Sharp Elite PRO-60X5FD: Outstanding Color Accuracy

Technology Zones - Sharp’s Elite Pro-60X5FD ($5,999 list) is aptly named; in terms of price and performance, this 60-inch LED backlit HDTV is in a class by itself.  Its color accuracy, image detail, and black levels are superb, it offers a plethora of picture settings, and its 3D imagery is as good as it gets, but the Elite is not without its flaws. Our tests showed that the panel’s off-angle viewing is not quite up to par, and as is typically the case, 2D to 3D conversion quality can’t touch the real thing. Last (but certainly not least), you’ll need very deep pockets to afford the Elite’s $6K price tag. That said, if money is no object and you want a top-shelf HDTV with a stunning picture, look no further than the Elite Pro-60X5FD.

Panasonic TC-P55ST50: Splendid Color and Deep Black

Technology Zones - LCD or plasma? By now the question feels as quaint as “Coke or Pepsi?” Plasmas consume more energy, have shorter lifespans, and suffer from burn-in issues, so it’s an easy choice. Right? Wrong. Panasonic’s TC-P55ST50 makes a solid case for giving a plasma a shot at the living room, especially for viewers who like their black levels inky and their colors resplendent. True, a 55-inch plasma consumes considerably more power than a 55-inch LED-backlit LCD. But long-term burn-in? And fast flame-outs? Technology has largely cured both early-plasma ailments.

Samsung PN60E6500: Best Black Level Plasma TV

Technology Zones - Samsung’s PN60E6500 strikes an elegant balance between stunning picture quality and affordability, making it one of the best values for budget-minded buyers who still want a TV that will drop jaws.

For many years, Samsung was the answer to the question, "Which LCD should I get?" While the company also manufactured plasmas, they seemingly weren't a priority for Samsung or the public. But beginning in 2011 with the superb D8000 and D7000, for example, the company demonstrated that it was serious about the technology's picture-quality potential. That newfound determination continues into 2012.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD: Amazon Fired Up

Technology Zones - Amazon is an amazing places to buy something. They have developing their business becoming worldwide brand. Starting from book marketplace, now they developing book-tools. Amazon Kindle Fire HD. An e-book reader from Amazon.

The original Kindle Fire felt like a rushed, but mostly successful attempt to deliver a gateway to Amazon video, music, and book content. The Kindle Fire HD improves on the original in nearly every area in which the Fire was lacking and, thanks to some key refinements, proves to be a much better delivery system for that media.

The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 is the Transformer Prime as it should have been. A Gandalf the White to the Prime's Saruman. Asus has clearly listened to the grievances -- most notably, GPS issues -- of some Prime owners, and in most cases addresses said grievances and then some.

Apple New iPad: New Apple Lineup

Technology Zones - Apple never stop their pace. Almost every Apple product becoming a trendsetter in the market. They know about technology. They know about design. So where is their minor? Now Apple come to showing their new teeth to the world. New iPad.

Apple's new iPad is a mix of the familiar and the futuristic. Its design remains practically unchanged from last year's iPad 2. Its internal components and wireless capabilities have only received a predictable bump. You'd think Apple fell asleep at the wheel with this one--until that moment when you turn on the screen.

Apple iPod Nano Seventh Generation: New Nano Lineup

Technology Zones - iPod Nano comes with their new lineup. Seventh generation. More update from Apple with this one. Major update also. Check this review.

The seventh-generation Apple iPod Nano is a fun, cute, capable MP3 player. With it, you can take virtually all of your iTunes media on the go -- your music, videos, audiobooks, podcasts, and even photos.

Priced at $149 and outfitted with 16GB of storage, the iPod Nano offers most of the amenities we've come to expect from an iPod, and strikes an interesting balance between the simplicity of the iPod Shuffle and the smartphonelike operation of the iPod Touch. Unfortunately, there's nothing balanced about the iPod Nano's price. With the 16GB iPod Touch out there for $199, and the iPod Shuffle available for just $49, the Nano's compromise between the two isn't very compelling.

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2: Another Samsung Lineup For Defeating Apple

Technology Zones - Samsung fight with Apple not in the end. This time Samsung try to fight with Apple iPod Touch. Same as Apple, Samsung launch their MP3 player like their Smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S.

The logic behind Samsung's Galaxy Player 4.2 seems fairly straightforward. You take Samsung's tailored version of the Android 2.3 smartphone software and put it on a pocket-size device with a 4-inch screen, and you should have an appealing alternative to Apple's popular iPod Touch.

A Penguin Foams Past The Biology

Technology Zones - A penguin foams past the biology.

A penguin is any bird that belongs to the Order Sphenisciformes. That would be a strict definition. But, that doesn't mean much to an individual upon inspection. First of all, a bird is any animal that is a homeothermic vertebrate animal with a pair of modified upper limbs that support or supported flight at one time in the evolutionary development of the animal. A penguin would be any animal that belongs to the class Aves, which contains all birds, is incapable of flight due to loss of the proper machinery, is naturally restricted to the Southern Hemisphere, moves about by swiming and walking, nests on land, and shares similar morphological features -- mainly color and striping patterns -- between the sexes.

In an era of tablets of all shapes and sizes, or smartphones of varying degrees of tablet-approaching vastness, what room is there for a device like the iPod Touch? I’d say “the humble music player,” but the Touch is no longer that, nor has been for years. It’s a phoneless iPhone, an “iPad that fits in your pocket,” as Donald Bell said last year about the fourth-generation iPod Touch. The 2012 model, the fifth-generation Touch, has made a vibrant return after essentially taking a year off: this is the first upgrade to the hardware since 2010.

Dell Inspiron 14z: Best Budget Laptop

Technology Zones - Dell comeback with their inspiring laptop. Dell Inspiron 14z. The best budget laptop. Best price for their specification. Good specification for mainstream use. Now Dell re-start their power and preparing their fist to punch away any competitors

When it comes to laptop design, you generally get what you pay for. There are, however, rare exceptions when more expensive laptops feel like budget models, and low-cost systems look like they should cost more.

The recently refreshed Dell Inspiron line has a bit of that price-bending effect, especially in the form of the Inspiron 14z, a modestly priced ultrabook that looks great, includes discrete graphics, and costs only $899. (Less impressive configurations start at $699.)

Acer Aspire S5: Thinnest UltraBook

Technology Zones - Ultrabook. Thin, light, mobile, etc. That is mostly people think when they heard about that. Ultrabook recently have taking people attention. This is not a new technology. But still fresh for some vendor to develop. The one of that vendor is Acer. They have launched Acer Aspire A5. The Thinnest Ultrabook in the world.

It was back in January, at CES 2012, that we first saw the $1,399 13-inch Acer Aspire S5 ultrabook. Of course, if you remember the S5 from CES, you'll recall its most unique feature -- a tiny motorized door at the back of the bottom panel that opens at the touch of a button, revealing a ports-and-connections block, including HDMI and Thunderbolt (making this one of only a handful of Thunderbolt laptops). Acer calls this the MagicFlip I/O Port.

It's certainly clever, and it earns points for originality and engineering. But call me crazy, I'd prefer to have my USB ports sitting right on the side of the laptop, easy to access without having to push a button and wait.

Samsung Series 7 Gamer: Best Gaming Laptop

Technology Zones - Samsung still not stop their pace on mobile technology segment. Now they entering notebook market with high quality gaming laptop. Not just an ordinary gaming laptop. But high-end-spec laptop. Samsung Series 7 Gamer: Best Gaming Laptop.

There has been a small flood of big-screened gaming mega laptops recently, timed to coincide with the release of Nvidia's latest graphics and Intel's newest processors. Ivy Bridge Core i-series CPUs started in quad-core configurations first, although midrange dual-core and ultrabook processors will follow soon. Systems showing off these new processors and graphics have largely been very expensive and, incidentally, quite good.

Samsung's behemoth Series 7 Gamer is one of a new line of laptops for the Korean electronics giant, clearly an answer to products from the likes of Origin, Alienware, and Asus.

Big-boned and full of high-end components, the Series 7 Gamer comes in only one, $1,899 configuration. The good news is that there's a lot of meat in this laptop: a quad-core Core i7-3610QM processor, 16GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M graphics, a 750GB hard drive, and a 1,920x1,080-pixel-resolution 17-inch display that's flat-out gorgeous.

What is Retina Display

Technology Zones - Retina Display is a brand name used by Apple for liquid crystal displays which they claim to have a high enough pixel density that the human eye is unable to notice pixelation at a typical viewing distance. The term is used for several Apple products, including the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and MacBook Pro. As the typical viewing distance would be different depending on each device's usage, the pixels per inch claimed as retina quality can be different for the smallest devices (326, iPhone and iPod Touch): greater than the mid-sized devices (264, iPad) and greater than the larger devices (220, MacBook Pro).
The displays are manufactured by different suppliers. Currently, the iPad's display comes from the same suppliers Samsung use whilst Macbook Pro displays are mostly made by LG's suppliers, along with the iPhone and iPod Touch displays. Apple has applied to register the term "Retina" as a trademark in regard to computers and mobile devices with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Canadian Intellectual Property Office, and in Jamaica.
